Summer Challenge Update!

Where is everyone in their summer challenge? How is it working for you?

I am almost done with the Couch to 5K program. I am doing Week 7 Day 1 today. In general, I am feeling great! I highly recommend this program, its a great way to ease into running and get in shape. I haven't really lost any weight because I've not been following my diet that well. :-P However, my partner thinks I have lost inches and I look more toned. So yay for that! I even got my partner hooked on C25K! My first 5K will be in August and I am very excited.  We have also been riding our bikes every chance we get, well, until my bike got stolen which was a total bummer. We got a vintage one this weekend and I love it even more than my mountain bike. It suits my urban lifestyle a bit better. I would still like to lose a few pounds by the end of summer and maintain this healthy lifestyle in fall.

I'm running a half marathon over Labor Day weekend! It'll be my first race longer than a 5K (and my first race since December, although that one I didn't take very seriously). So far it's been good but I haven't gone more than 5 miles we'll see :) I picked a half marathon early in the school year because I was worried I wouldn't have enough time to train for one during the school year, whereas I have more than enough time this summer. Hopefully I'll keep up working out during the school year though!
